  1. Gather ingredients (not shown: cumin). Put the undrained beans into a saucepan.
  2. Simmer beans until slightly thickened.
  3. Add tamari and cumin to taste. (Start with a teaspoon or two of cumin. The amount of tamari depends on how salty the beans were to start.)
  4. Serve over rice. Add a little toasted sesame oil if desired.
Recipe Notes

A household standard. Warm and tasty, and a good component of other dishes. Nice on mochi as well as rice.
