Instructions
  1. Combine 3 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Heat liquids until very warm (120ºF - 130ºF).
  3. Add liquids to dry mixture, beat well.
  4. Stir in enough more flour to make a stiff batter.
  5. Spoon into two greased 8½ x 4-inch loaf pans that have been sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover.
  6. Let rise in warm place for 45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 400ºF for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove from pans immediately and cool.

1970s

Mom went through a spell of making this when I was a kid. It's really substantial and makes awesome toast.
