  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Butter 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl.
  4. Add creamed corn, butter and egg; stir just until blended.
  5. Spoon batter into pan.
  6. Bake until edges begin to pull away from pan sides and knife stuck in center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.
  7. Cool in pan on rack.
