  1. Break up your ground beef in a nice big frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook the meat until it is mostly browned. Make sure it's in smaller bits, not big chunks. Don't let it get too hard. You can drain some fat if it feels like there's a lot.
  3. Sprinkle, maybe, a quarter cup of flour over the cooked meat.
  4. Stir the flour in quickly so it doesn't get lumpy. It's making the base of a gravy with the fat in the pan, so make sure there's at least some of that in there.
  5. Make a cup or two of beef boullion with boiling water and boullion cubes.
  6. Pour half of the boullion in with the meat and bring it to a simmer.
  7. Keep adding more boullion over the next five minutes or so as the flour cooks and thickens the gravy. If it's lacking in flavor, you can mash in another 1/2 a boullion cube or so.
  8. Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles, just like the cafeteria ladies do!
